True Cowboy Spirit Honored At Rowell Rodeo Parade

They came by the hundreds, with their folding chairs, snacks, and parasols, staking out a patch of Castro Valley Blvd. to experience the big spring event of the year, Saturday’s Rowell Ranch Rodeo Parade.
This year’s 26th annual parade recognized one of it’s most faithful committee members and participants—Dale Yearian—who died last November. Yearian’s widow, Bette, rode proudly at the front of the parade as Grand Marshal.

The start of fire season varies each year throughout the state and is based on weather conditions, vegetation growth, moisture, and increased fire activity.

Prepare Now For July 1 Cell Phone Law Change

I hate to be an alarmist, but you have less than seven weeks to change your driving habits... that is if you like to talk on your cell phone behind the wheel.
That's because on July 1, you can get pulled over and ticketed just for talking (or texting) while driving in California. The obvious exception would be for dire emergencies, such as calling 9-11. And no, voting for your favorite American Idol does not constitute as an emergency.
